Love & Rockets #24
Jaime Hernandez
I was pleasantly surprised to see this one mentioned already. As far as I'm concerned, Jaime Hernandez is a modern master; he's right up there with Kurtzman and Eisner when it comes to storytelling, pacing, black and white balance, and character nuance. Love & Rockets has sported a number of striking covers, and this is one of the best. It's like you're right there in the scene, squeezed into a tiny club and banging your head to a hard-rocking band. A perfect little moment in time.
