I did rough thumbnails in my sketchbook, then scanned them into Photoshop, and laid them into a page template. Thumbnails are on the bottom layer, panel borders on another, and lettering on a layer above that. Everything can be moved around and adjusted, and no doubt will be as I go in and start doing the finished art (which will be a whole 'nother layer of its own). Even at this rough stage, I can get a pretty good sense of composition and flow.



I'm not totally sold on that "scroll" effect on the bottom of pg. 2. I think I need something for the transition to the "happy place", but that might be a little too in-your-face.
This will be my first attempt to draw a strip almost 100%* in Photoshop, so we'll see how it goes.
(*I could have easily done the initial thumbnail sketches digitally, too. But they were mostly done in stolen moments between other projects, while curled up in front of the tv, etc. So it was convenient to do them on paper.)
