The new issue of the United Fanzine Organization's newsletter, Tetragrammaton Fragments is out. Several members commented on Fantasy Theater #15:

Matt Dembicki: "The front cover is excellent... the back cover isn't as strong: It's a little too red and a bit flat... Actually, what I enjoyed most about ["Heart of Darkness"] is seeing Kevin's pencils for some of the pages on his web site. He's got some killer pencils that are sometimes lost in the broad, bold style of his inking."

[I've never thought much of my pencils, so this was really neat to hear. Thanks, Matt!]

Tony Brandl: "I think my primary qualm is that in much of your writing on unique concepts... you don't exploit the setup as much as you could... Nazi zombies could have been a statement on the nature of free thought... As it stands, the villains end up doing little more than posturing... I guess what I'm suggesting is that you exploit your abilities to do superhero work that breaks conventions rather than spins off it."

[Fair enough. But these days, it seems like pretty much every superhero comic out there is trying to "break the conventions", so I'm having more fun going the other way. But there's some stuff coming up that you might like better. I'll be interested in your reaction to the fairly unconventional "The Wild, The Innocent, and The E-Street Shuffle".]

Jerry Smith: "Your artwork has really begun to mature and I think you hit the marks this time."

Steve Keeter: "Both covers, by Scott McClung, were excellent... 3 very, very good stories that combine grim themes... with humor and heroics... The Lady Spectra and Sparky tale is a fast-moving treat, and I couldn't help but detect a similarity to Bob Kane... that's a compliment, true heroes are hard to find these days."

[And much like Bob Kane, I try to get my "assistants" to do as much of the work as possible! ;-) One of the best parts of being a UFO member is the feedback you get from the other members, so thanks guys!]
