The countdown of favorite penciller/inker teams continues. The thread with everyone's picks is here, or see my pick below the cut:

Jim Starlin / P. Craig Russell - As far as I know, this team-up only happened once, in a two-part story in Detective Comics #481-482. The combination of Starlin's massive, Kirby/Dikto-influenced figures and Russell's delicate, Art Noveau rendering is downright bizarre. But somehow it works, and adds an appropriately surreal touch to this loopy story involving talking gorillas and mind-transfers. Coming in the middle of one of Batman's more serious, self-important phases, this story is a real oddball, in the best possible way.
