I've just gotten word that artist Jim Aparo has passed away, at the age of 72. Aparo was perhaps best known for his work on Batman (including "Brave and the Bold" and "Batman and the Outsiders", as well as the main title), but he also had memorable runs on Aquaman, the Phantom Stranger, and the Spectre. His realistic, fine-lined style was distinctive, dramatic, and beautiful, and he was a favorite of mine since I was a youngster. Condolensces to his family and friends.
