Synopsis:
The entire east coast of the United States was rocked by a massive storm, and the Ugly Ghost Squad had their hands full assisting with rescue and evacuation procedures. At the height of the storm, they received a message from the missing Crusaders (see #9) to meet at their skyscraper HQ. But when the heroes arrived, the Crusaders attacked them, saying that they had met the mastermind behind the storm and were now his servants. The Squad managed to defeat the Crusaders, only to be confronted by a sinister face that seemed to form out of the clouds.
The ethereal image announced himself as Doctor Apocalypse, and issued an ultimatum: The U.S. government must declare Manhattan Island to be a separate, sovereign nation, under Apocalypse's control, within nine days. If not, he would destroy a major U.S. city every day his demands were not met. To prove his ability to carry out his threat, he would destroy Times Square in New York City the following day.
The Ghost Squad staked out Times Square, and were there for the arrival of a 60-foot-tall mechanical monstrosity called the Doomsday Robot. The Robot began firing missiles and lasers both at the heroes and the surrounding buildings. The Martian Manhunter spotted a hidden hatch in the Robot's foot, and the team moved inside the device, confronting the crew that was controlling it. The crew consisted of ordinary humans, and were no match for the Squad. When the main pilot was taken out, they released a "deadman's switch" that started a self-destruct sequence. The heroes barely managed to get out with the Robot's crew before it imploded.
Interrogating the Robot's crew, the Squad learned they had been hired and trained by someone calling themselves "The Iron Maiden", who was headquartered in a high-rise building downtown. Arriving at the Montuori Trade and Industries Building, they were confronted by the team called The Destroyers: the armored Iron Maiden, the lightning-powered Electrocutioner, the vicious Ratman, the morphing Shapeshifter, the alien energy-blaster Annihilator, and the massively-muscled Behemoth. The latter nearly took out the team single-handedly after his comrades had fallen, but the Squad rallied and brought him down. Searching the Destroyers' base, they found maps indicating that Doctor Apocalypse could be found at a location called Nacht Island, deep within the Bermuda Triangle. The Ghost Squad prepared to launch their assault...
Memorable Quotes:
"Batman's gonna be pissed." - Captain America, as the Doomsday Robot began knocking down buildings.

All of the characters this week were straight from the adventure modules. Although by coincidence, both "Crisis at Crusader Citadel" and "Death-Duel With the Destroyers" were later adapted into comic books:
